We’re excited and we just can’t hide it! The Cottage House was recently named “Community Recreation Center of the Year- Developer” at this year’s Houston’s Best PRISM Awards hosted by the Greater Houston Builders Association.
The Cottage House is where our residents go to play, work out and generally just chill. Designed as a nod to Richmond’s past, the exterior of the 5,095-square-foot clubhouse follows farmhouse architecture guidelines, with a gabled roof and vertical siding. Shutters, doors and barn-door trim are painted Veranda purple. A 3,250-square-foot covered patio offers fantastic views of our ponds and trees.
If you think the outside is cute, just wait until you step inside. The Cottage House is airy and spacious, with large windows and additional clerestory windows providing plenty of light. Industrial elements add a modern touch.
The clubhouse features a 1,500-square-foot cardio and circuit-training room. Residents love meeting up with their workout buddies for a quick run on the treadmill or for one of our exercise classes. For residents feeling a little sore after their workout or for those in need of a little pampering, there is a massage suite staffed by trained therapists. Kids love hanging out in our mezzanine play area. Shuffleboard is a big hit. Other residents take advantage of our multi-purpose meeting room for club gatherings and business events.
The Cottage House may be our main attraction, but it is by far not the only one. Residents enjoy summer access to our family-friendly pool complex featuring a kids' splash zone, water slides and in-water rock wall. There’s an event lawn for activities planned by our Director of Fun. A yoga lawn is available for residents working on their Downward Facing Dog. Which reminds us — we’re celebrating the opening of our new Canine Cove Dog Park with a Howl-O-Ween party, 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15.
Come visit Veranda and take a tour of The Cottage House today. We can’t wait for you to join our award-winning community.
